Remember the race I was supposed to be running today? Cancelled. To be totally honest, I'm not too upset about it. I wasn't going to have my best run today, I haven't had a good week or two of running, and all the running I've done over the past year has been very focused on slower endurance running.
And have you seen what Nova Scotia looks like outside today??
I'm content curling up by the fire with the dog :)
The storm has been raging for a about 28 hours now. I didn't run outside yesterday because of the snow- the roads are a mess right now, there have been dozens of accidents and it's not safe to run on them. I was more than happy to spend some time with a The Girls Next Door DVD and Scott!!
Um, yeah - about Scott... Remember how I named the treadmill Dean Karnazes? I changed my mind. I'm reading Scott Jurek's book Eat & Run right now - Amazon.com had it available for download on Kindle for $3.. I just checked and the price has gone back up to $9 (boo!) but still very worth it. Scott is very down to earth and modest - for what an amazing runner he is, I'm kind of blown away by how normal and down-to-earth he seems.
Anyway, I've decided that I like Scott better than Deano, so the treadmill is now Scotty.
For those of you who are
Other exciting news...
I had been on the lookout for a pretty new training journal to keep track of my runs. I made a goal last March (I can't believe it was that long ago!) to keep a training log of my runs and I've been really good about logging them consistently, but my old training journal, while efficient, wasn't that pretty. Reader RoadJane suggested looking into the journals produced by pro runners Lauren Fleshman and Roisin McGettigan, the Believe I Am Training Journal.
I finally ordered one and it arrived last week - I'm SO excited to fill up the beautiful pages with runs!! I will review the journal once I've had a chance to use it a little more.
Were you affected by the snowstorm "Nemo"?
Did you run today?
Do you use a training log?

Ugh training for my first 1/2 next month and I did NOT do a long run this weekend. It's my one free day to do long runs (2 crazy kids) and I skipped and went to spin and then I just ran out of time so no run for me - I suck, LOL. Ugh. www.colorushealthy.com
